Abstract

Agradecemos a Valverde por concordar em ler e comentar nosso livro, apesar de este não se encontrar exatamente em sua área e interesses de pesquisa. Seus comentários trazem outra perspectiva sobre instituições, e seu texto expõe os leitores a um tipo de análise com pressupostos metodológicos distintos daqueles que adotamos em nosso livro. Apesar dessas diferenças, há algumas questões levantadas por Valverde que coincidem com preocupações prementes no campo do direito e desenvolvimento. Nossa reação girará em torno dessas preocupações partilhadas.
