Abstract

This study sought to explore the reasons behind the growth of the Asian fintechs market, during the year 2022 and the first quarter of 2023, a period in which the global macroeconomic context was not conducive to risky investments. At first, it was sought to identify the factors that investors observe to invest in the fintechs market, such as the existence of favorable regulation, the existence of a stable financial market and the ability to innovate. Next, we sought to explore whether measures in favor of financial market resilience and the regulatory pioneering of countries in the Asian region could explain the greater attractiveness of these markets in the current macroeconomic context of high interest rates. At the end, we sought to provide an initial perception on the reasons behind the Asian growth of fintechs in the global macroeconomic context not very favorable for risky investments.
